GSM-102 Credit Guarantee Allocations

GSM-102 Allocations for Cotton & Cotton Products & List of Eligible Banks

The GSM 102 credit guarantee program, administered by the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is designed to assist in financing for the sale of agricultural products overseas, including U.S. cotton fiber, yarn and fabric products. The program covers credit terms up to three years.  These programs allow non-U.S. buyers to purchase U.S. agricultural products from private U.S. exporters on commercial terms. The CCC acts as the guarantor of the loans but does not provide the financing itself.  Typically, issuing guarantees cover up to 98 percent of the principal and a portion of the interest.  This program operates in countries where credit is necessary to increase or maintain U.S. exports and where financing may not be available without CCC guarantees.  To find out more information about these programs, please go to the GSM 102 section of the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service World Wide Web site.

UPDATE: Effective April 9, 2010, the USDA is canceling all unutilized balances of the GSM-102 Export Credit Program announcements issued for Fiscal Year (FY) 2010.

“USDA on April 20 amended availability of credit guarantees for sales of U.S. agricultural commodities to selected countries and regions throughout the world under the Commodity Credit Corporation's Export Credit Guarantee Program (GSM-102) for fiscal year 2010.
