COTTON USA Recruits New Spinner Licensee at TITAS
COTTON USA recruited a new COTTON USA spinner licensee and strengthened relationships with existing licensees at the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS), held from Oct. 19-21 at Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall.
COTTON USA welcomed Tung Ho Textile Co., Ltd. into the COTTON USA program, a spinner that operates 62,880 spindles and uses 36,000 bales of cotton annually. COTTON USA also met with longstanding licensees at the show, including Mr. Douglas Hsu, Chairman & CEO of Far Eastern Group (pictured above), the largest textile mill in Taiwan.
COTTON USA displayed an “I Love My Cotton” campaign advertisement at TITAS to emphasize U.S. cotton’s qualities and connection with customers. TITAS, the only professional textile trade show in Taiwan, had 370 exhibitors and more than 790 booths. This year’s show concentrated on functional textiles for apparel, as well as recycled and sustainable textiles.
The “International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) International Seminar 2015” coincided with TITAS. Ms. Julia K. Hughes, President of the United States Fashion Industry Association gave the keynote speech during the seminar, focusing on the development of the textile and apparel industries under regional economic integration.
Other speakers Included: Dr. Andy Chen, Director of the Regional Sustainable Manufacturing Chemistry of the Nike Sustainable MFG Excellence; and Ms. Molly Claiborne-Iskorkutan, Director of Sourcing Apparel and Materials at Adidas Sourcing Limited Taiwan Branch. These two leading brands identified Taiwan as a key country for global sourcing.
