Cotton Council International Elects 2015 Officers

Dahlen K. Hancock, a Ropesville, TX, producer, will serve as president of Cotton Council International (CCI) for ’15. He and other CCI officers were elected at CCI’s board meeting held during the NCC’s ’15 Annual Meeting in Memphis.

"I know that these are difficult times for the cotton industry with such a large surplus of cotton globally,” Hancock said. “CCI, working for the U.S. cotton industry, will continue to do a great job of promoting and sourcing our quality cotton into export markets around the world. I look forward to leading CCI as we address this challenge."

Hancock, who moves up from CCI first vice president, succeeds Jordan Lea, a Greenville, SC, merchant, who becomes CCI board chairman. Hancock is a fourth generation farmer following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who also chose farming as their professions. Hancock serves as chairman of New Home Coop Gin, as well as a delegate and marketing pool representative at Plains Cotton Cooperative Assoc. in Lubbock, TX.

Other ’15 CCI officers elected include: first vice president, Keith Lucas, cooperative official, Garner, NC; second vice president, Anthony Tancredi, merchant, Cordova, TN; and treasurer, Stewart Weaver, Jr., producer, Edmondson, AR. In addition, Gary Adams, Cordova, was elected as secretary and Vaughn Jordan, Washington, DC, elected as assistant secretary.

Producers Lee Cromley, Brooklet, GA; and Craig Heinrich, Lubbock; were elected ’15 CCI directors.

Re-elected ’15 CCI directors were: Producers – Cannon Michael, producer, Los Banos, CA; Mike Alexander, Colorado City, TX; Richard Kelley, Burlison, TN; Taylor Slade, Williamston, NC; and. Greg Wuertz, Casa Grande, AZ; Ginners – Sid Brough, Odem, TX; and Kent Fountain, Surrency, GA; Merchants – Hopie Brooks, III, and Steve Dyer, both of Cordova, TN; Phil Bogel, II, and Eddy Esteve, both of Dallas, TX; and Ernie Schroeder, Jr., Bakersfield, CA; Cooperative Officials - Frederick Barrier and Hank Reichle, both of Greenwood, MS; and Lonnie Winters, Lubbock; Cottonseed Handler - James Massey, Harlingen, TX; Warehouser - Vance Shoaf, Milan, TN; and Manufacturers – Daniel Morrison, Gastonia, NC; and Robin Perkins, Sanford, NC.
