Cotton Council International (CCI) and Cotton Incorporated joined forces to promote cotton at the 2016 Shanghai Intertextile Apparel Show at National Exhibition Center. CCI promoted quality U.S. cotton products that exemplify the passion of farmers and an industry that spans across the country. As a trustworthy resource and partner through supply chain, Cotton Incorporated continues to reinforce the performance technologies of this natural fiber.

At this year’s show, COTTON USA launched the unique “Cotton Comfort Travel Kiosk” concept to highlight what cotton can do for world travelers. Under the theme “Fly Cottonair,” COTTON USA showcased fashionable, functional and travel-friendly items with 17 COTTON USA brand and 14 fabric licensees.

“With the rapid rise of China’s economy and tourism in the past decade, Chinese business travelers and tourists are seeking quality apparel and travel items to make their journeys smoother and more comfortable,” CCI China and Northeast Asia Director Karin Malmstrom said. “Looking forward, the demand for quality cotton products in the travel segment will increase, also providing COTTON USA an opportunity to capture and further boost the consumption of quality U.S. cotton fiber in this huge market.”

Supima displayed an array of extra-long staple U.S. cotton products quality at the joint booth. More than 30 textile manufacturers, brands and retailers who are COTTON USA licensees and strategic partners of CCI and Cotton Incorporated in China also displayed their cotton-rich products at the booth.

This year’s show attracted nearly 4,600 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions, who have made the Intertextile Apparel Fabrics Show again a world’s most comprehensive textile trade show. Buyers and visitors also benefited from six specific products zones designed to help ease both searching and sourcing at the show.
