Front Row at London Fashion Week with COTTON USA
COTTON USA returned to London Fashion Week (LFW) to support sponsored designer Faustine Steinmetz, where she unveiled her stunning Autumn/Winter 2016 collection highlighting the beauty and versatility of U.S. cotton. Season after season Steinmetz never fails to deliver collections that are the perfect blend of effortless beauty and detailed craftsmanship with the reminder that fashion doesn’t have to be disposable - all qualities which mirror the values of COTTON USA.
“The fashion industry is highly competitive and it can be very tough for young designers to make their mark," Steinmetz said. "This support allows me to express my vision and showcase the collection in a way that is wholly responsible." She continued, “Using U.S. cotton means that I am working with fibers and fabric that are responsibly sourced. Its versatility gives me the freedom to create high quality pieces whilst not compromising on innovation in my work."
The Parisian designer showcased her eagerly anticipated AW16 collection in the beautiful surroundings of the Tate Britain, which made for the perfect venue for her to reflect both the inspiration and themes of her show – modern art and sculptures. Steinmetz’s presentation was a popular choice amongst LFW attendees, attracting more than 190 guests from around the world, and international buyers from retailers including: Selfridges, Matches, Browns and Nordstrom.
Her show also caught the attention of a large number of esteemed industry writers, bloggers and influencers including Suzy Menkes from Vogue International, Susanna Lau at Style Bubble, Lou Stoppard from SHOWSTUDIO, as well as writers from i-D Magazine, Sunday Times Style and Business of Fashion. These publications represent an overall readership of 92.3 million worldwide.
