U.S. Cotton Home Textiles Attract Crowds at Heimtextil Trade Show
Cotton Council International (CCI) promoted responsibly-produced U.S. cotton to an international trade audience Jan. 8-11 at Heimtextil in Frankfurt, Germany, the world’s leading trade show for home textiles. Heimtextil united approximately 2,720 exhibitors and 67,000 visitors from 133 countries around the globe.
The COTTON USA booth at Heimtextil served as an important hub for communication between the U.S. cotton industry and all segments of the cotton supply chain, from retail buyers to merchants and mills. During the show, 10 companies from Europe and Turkey signed on to the Cotton LEADS™ program, which emphasizes the responsible growing practices of cotton growers in the U.S. and Australia. These companies will include Cotton LEADS within their sustainable sourcing guidelines.
CCI renewed several COTTON USA licenses and generated new business opportunities for industry, brand and retail partners by connecting buyers and sellers of U.S. cotton products. COTTON USA-licensed home textiles suppliers reported having productive sales meetings with their customers at CCI’s booth. Cotton Incorporated and Supima joined CCI at Heimtextil to provide comprehensive information on U.S. cotton fiber and their respective cotton marketing, licensing, sourcing and research programs.
CCI featured U.S. cotton product samples from 16 COTTON USA licensees: Bassetti, Camillatex and Zucchi (Italy); Graser Exklusiv (Germany); Nishikawa Sangyo (Japan); Magasin (Sweden); Shanghai Imagine Home Furnishings (China); Caliphil (Taiwan); Kimpeks (Turkey); Linen House, Cannon, Jaspal Home/Santas (Thailand); Kaltex Home, Casale Home and Zermatex (Mexico); and L.S. Mills (India).
