COTTON USA Turkey Conference Presentations

The COTTON USA Turkey Conference, held Sept. 25-27 in Antalya, Turkey, attracted nearly 110 executives total, including 37 spinning mills and 23 U.S. merchants / coops or their agents. In addition to proving a valuable update on the world and U.S. cotton markets and how trades issues are affecting the global availability of cotton, COTTON USA introduced the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol. The Trust Protocol explained in detail the rigorous efforts of the U.S. industry to provide its customers with the most sustainable, responsibly-produced and traceable cotton in the world - U.S. cotton, the Cotton the World Trusts. Supima detailed how its strong branding is influencing customers’ allegiance toward U.S. Supima cotton. Also, the International Cotton Association explained the value of its services and its importance to the Turkish mills. Furthermore, the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Association and the Turkish Garment Manufacturers Association showed in its presentations Turkey’s productivity and “What Makes Turkey Competitive.”
